There is a dividing line between writing and fanfiction when it comes to things that have been published. Take for example the current novel I am reading. Is it a novel, or is it fanfiction?



Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth by Christopher Golden



It is a book based on the video game series Uncharted, which in my mind means it is sort of an authorized fanfiction story that has made it to publication.



I'm not yet far enough into it to decide if it is well wrote or not, but it is still holding my interest so far, which is more than I have been able to say about a lot of books I have read in recent years.
